FÉDÉRATION CYNOLOGIQUE LUXEMBOURGEOISE
97th International Dog Show – Information
The Minister of the Agriculture, of the Viticulture and the Protection of the consumers, by his „Administration des services vétérinaires“, decided not to give any authorization to the Fédération Cynologique Luxembourgeoise (FCL) for the organization of the 97th International Dog Show on 1st and 2nd of September 2018.
After the Luxembourg Minister of the Agriculture decided not to give any authorization to the Fédération Cynologique Luxembourgeoise (FCL) for the organization of the 97th International Dog Show on 1st and 2nd of September 2018, many reactions came out – incomprehension on one side, a nearly gleeful endorsement on the other.
Some emotional and irrational comments were spread lately on social networks. These may create the impression that a general rejection on the event, organized twice a year by the FCL, is accepted as positive and highly appreciated by the general public.
The FCL has recommended to all persons, directly or indirectly affected (suppliers, breeders or exhibitors, club members …) not to engage in such impassioned debates.
The actions to be taken and types of measures to follow should only be developed, proposed and discussed between official and competent representatives of the ‘Fédération Cynologique Luxembourgeoise’ and the Luxembourg Ministry of the Agriculture, represented by its Administration des services vétérinaires, authority making the decision.
Any private statement or initiation of an unofficial petition, by those concerned, is undoubtedly a testimony of their loyalty to the FCL. However, these actions might ignite further unnecessary debates, which may have a hindering influence and so create difficulties to work out a quick and fair solution to everyone’s satisfaction.
